Obituary for Mr. Thomas "Tom" Henry Holmes

Thomas "Tom" Henry Holmes, age 70, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Embrace Hospice House.

Born January 7, 1948 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of the late Henry Holmes and Virginia Miller Walczewski (Joseph). Mr. Holmes proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years of service in the US Air Force from the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, where he worked as an Autopilot Systems Technician. He then worked for Honeywell, formerly known as Allied Signal, for 15 years in the QA Chemistry lab. Mr. Holmes was a fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus. He loved golfing, gardening, and model railroading. He loved to fish, was an avid football fan and enjoyed traveling. Mr. Holmes will be remembered as a wonderful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving are his wife 49 years, Anne Marie Taylor Holmes; a daughter, Julie Rousseau (Ronald); a son, Matthew Holmes (Krickett); and grandchildren, Amber and Noah Rousseau.

A funeral service with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, July 2, 2018 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Fuzzy Lake officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center, 421 Highway 57 South, Little River, SC 29566.
