In Memory

Bill Seth

William H.  Seth passed away Tuesday, October 25th, 2016, at his home in the loving arms of his wife, Mary Gessler-Seth.  He was born November 1st, 1949 to the late Alvin and LaVon Seth.  Bill was employed with General Mills for 33 years in many different jobs at the facility.  Bill was a member of the National Guard from 1970-1976.

In his youth, Bill was an avid water skier and his specialty was barefoot skiing.  He spent most of his summers at Lake Wilson where his parents built their summer home. Bill enjoyed scuba diving, tennis and most of all his photography, specializing in Nature and Wildlife.

Bill had a knack for design.  He designed our home and all the landscaping.  He took pride in his yard and enjoyed spending time outside.  In 2009, Wings Paws & Prayers came to fruition and our nonprofit was started for the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned wildlife.  Bill designed all the animal enclosures and was the Vice President of the organization.  Since 2009, Wings Paws & Prayers has rehabbed over 500 animals, most of them Birds of Prey. Bill photographed the birds and sold many prints.  The sanctuary was where Bill found his joy and would stop and talk to strangers about what we did for wildlife.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Mary and his 4 children, Jodi (Angela), Matt, Daniel and Rachel (Scott), brother Bob (Bobbie) of Colorado. Bill is also survived by 3 very special children that he loved and adored, Jose, Oscar and Julian Sanchez. They touched his life in so many ways! He was “Papa” to two beautiful girls, Shelby Seth and Willow Solomon.  Bill is preceded in his death by his sister, Carol Franks.

There will be a private Memorial Service at the Sanctuary on Saturday, Nov. 5th, 2016, at 11 am, led by Pastor Gary Dotson and luncheon from 1 to 3 at CrossPoint Community Church 4212 Onondaga Ave, Toledo, OH 43611.

Thank you to all the Prayer Warriors that came to pray with Bill.  Bill loved the Lord and all of you brought him such peace.

A special thank you to Heartland Hospice for their support and the love they gave to the family.  A huge thank you to Emily for being the best nurse, friend and support system a family can have and to my brother Emil for his love, devotion, music and care he gave to Bill.

In lieu of flowers, tributes can be made to Wings Paws & Prayers Wildlife Rehabilitation, 11916 Douglas Rd.,  Temperance, MI 48182 or a charity of personal choice.

Bill was a great friend since grade school. I have been seeing he and his wife, Mary, since our last reunion where we reconnected. I saw Bill in the hospital at the end of August 2016 and we had a great conversation and lots of laughs. I also saw Bill 3 weeks ago at their home. He was failing fast...not even sure he knew I was there. Took him outside, in his wheelchair, on a beautiful day to look at the beautiful fall colors in his yard that he loved so much. I will miss him so much but am relieved he is no longer suffering. Bill had a lung disease and passed away at home in the arms of his wonderful,  loving wife.
